Bhairavnath Temple or Bhairon Baba Mandir is situated south of the Kedarnath temple on the eastern hill of the lofty Himalayas of Uttarakhand. About 800m further uphill trek from Kedarnath temple.The temple is dedicated to Bhairav – the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva associated with destruction and devastation.
Bhairavnath is described as kshetrapal who is the protector of Kedarnath temple and the whole Kedar valley in the winter when temple is closed. Pilgrims and Devotees who travel all the way to visit Kedarnath temple also pay obeisance at Bhairavnath temple as per the ritual.The temple also offers mesmerizing view of the Himalayas and the whole Kedar Valley.
